| Edwin Shorty is the managing partner in the Law Firm of Shorty, Dooley, & Hall. His primary area of focus is Personal Injury, Construction Litigation, Bankruptcy and General Liability Defense.
Mr. Shorty attended Southern University at New Orleans. There he graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While attending SUNO Mr. Shorty clerked for Wayne J. James & Associates from January 1998 until June 1999.
Upon graduation from SUNO he enrolled at Southern University Law Center. There he helped to start the Tax Clinic and participated in the Motion Practice Clinic, the Criminal Clinic, and functioned as the Secretary of the Environmental Law Society. He also clerked for the Louisiana Senate during the 2001 legislative session. Mr. Shorty graduated from Southern University Law Center in May of 2002.
Mr. Shorty held a contract law clerk position for the Honorable Piper Griffin in The Orleans Parish Civil District Court from April 2003 until October 2003. He then opened his own law practice under the name Edwin M. Shorty & Associates.
Edwin Shorty has served as General Counsel for the Desire Narcotics Rehabilitation Center, which has been in operation for over 30 years, and Desire Community Housing Corporation.
Mr. Shorty is currently a member of the following organizations, The Louisiana State Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, and the Industrial Development Board. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the French & Audubon Montessori School.
Edwin Shorty is admitted to practice law before the Louisiana State Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals for the Federal Court, the Eastern District of Louisiana and the Middle District of Louisiana. |
